Jack McKenna is a poet and photographer based in Manchester.

Before launching Pigeon Laughter, he published works in a range of magazines and journals.

In 2022, one of his poems was featured on an IPA by Track Brewery for their Fractions series. In 2024, he self-published Street Musicians, a book of photography and poetry. In 2025, he launched scant, a print magazine of poetry and photography featuring contributors from around the world, with an exhibition in Northern Quarter, Manchester.

He launched Pigeon Laughter in 2025 to publish experimental works of art.

Pigeon Laughter is an experimental DIY press.

It publishes poetry, photography, and hybrid works that navigate the current and its distinctive complexities by straddling innovative forms and themes, incorporating the printed book format as a key part of the text.

All publications are hand numbered and printed in the UK by a carbon-neutral printer on recycled paper.

Publications are available online and in store in Manchester, London, Leeds, and Glasgow.
